Since we feel engagement sessions are oh so important, we wanted to offer this to engaged couples in general. So we have tweaked it in order to help you get the most out of your day no matter who you choose as your photographer. So let’s talk about your engagement session! As photographers, we believe your engagement session is one of the most important parts of the pre- wedding process for four reasons. First, it gives you a chance to spend time with your photographer before the big day. Second, it gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of a camera. Third, it gives you a set of beautiful images that you can use for save-the-dates, your wedding website, prints to display at the rehearsal dinner or reception, frames for your wall in your new home together and so much more! Most importantly, it gives you a way to freeze this special time in your life. A chance to pause, take a deep breath and relish in this season together. You’ll be husband and wife for fifty plus years, but you only get to be fiances for a short little window of your life! With your engagement session, we want to help you slow down long enough to remember this short, sweet season of life for years to come. For my couples, our goal is simple: for your session to be as fun and stress-free as possible! That’s why we’ve created this guide! The following pages will help you get the absolute most out of your photos. By the time you’ve read through it, you'll have all of your questions answered and feel ready and prepared for your session! This guide is packed with our best tips, tricks and insider secrets for scheduling and styling your engagement session –– and everything in between. Your only job is to be yourselves, laugh a lot, have fun! We are so excited for you in this season of life! JEN & LEWIS YOU'RE ENGAGED...CONGRATULATIONS! XOXO,THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION STYLE GUIDE 7 PHOTOGRAPH ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS DURING THE BEST LIGHT: We would suggest beginning your session 1-2 hours before the scheduled sunset –– during the magical “golden hour” –– when the light in the sky is the softest, dreamiest and most flattering. You can use a sunset calculator online to determine the scheduled sunset for the date and location you’d like to do your session. Talk to your photographer about the amount of time alotted. Then, just subtract one-two hours to figure out your approximate session start time. If you’re wearing one outfit, We would start your session about 90 minutes before sunset. When scheduling your date, it’s important to remember that the sun sets much earlier during the colder months of the year and much later during the warmer months, so make sure to factor that in when choosing your engagement session date –– especially if you’re taking off work or have evening plans afterward. For our couples, we always recommend going out for a fun date night afterward since you’re already dressed up! SCHEDULING your SESSION1 SUNSET 7:00 P.M. - ONE OUTFIT EXAMPLE TIMELINE NO. 5:30 P.M.
